After an investigation process in several points of the department of Santa Ana, this afternoon the National Civil Police (PNC) confirmed the capture of two former members of that police corporation linked to an armed robbery near the University of El Salvador, in Santa Ana.

The robbery in question occurred on April 17 and the video of it was broadcast on social networks, where two men can be seen entering the sale of sorbet. One of them with a firearm in hand and the other guards the entrance door.

The former PNC members were identified as Melvin Alexander Orellana Argumedo and Jaime Peñate Peñate. They were intercepted and captured at Texistepeque, always in the department of Santa Ana.

A 9 millimeter caliber pistol and a motorcycle that they used to easily escape from the places they attacked were seized from both of them.

In the case of Orellana Argumedo, it was said that he was expelled from the PNC in 2005. He was convicted in 2017 for robbery, but a judge gave him conditional release. While Peñate, he was dismissed in 2008, but has an extensive criminal record for shooting weapons and dangerous explosions, aggravated robbery and robbery.

These subjects are also responsible for robbing another Nevería store, in Chalchuapa and a boutique, in the city of Santa Ana.

The PNC calls on the general population, if in any case you have been victims of these criminals, please file your complaint at the nearest police headquarters to add more charges against you and that will serve to return you to the streets in the future. committing a crime
