Two firefighters were injured in a high-risk fire in the sawmill building complex in Suntaži, the State Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) informed the portal Skaties.lv.
A call to the scene was received on Tuesday at 13.36, while the fire will continue on Wednesday.
According to preliminary information, the timber burned, but upon arrival at the scene, firefighters found that the sawmill building complex, consisting of a warehouse, repair boxes, office space, a turning shop with a total area of 800 square meters, as well as chips of 150 cubic meters, chips 300 cubic meters, was burning. pellets and timber in an area of 300 square meters.
At 16.24, this high-risk fire was localized. During the extinguishing work, two firefighters rescued, who were handed over to the medical staff of the Emergency Medical Service.
Last day, the SFRS received a total of 43 calls – 20 for firefighting, 12 for rescue work, but 11 calls were deceptions.
