Vienna – It was recently announced that Sebastian Kurz would be charged. From October 18th, the ex-chancellor and ex-ÖVP chairman will have to answer to the parliamentary U-committee on suspicion of making false statements. As of this month, Kurz is the center of attention elsewhere. There are two films about him. It has long been known that on September 21, director Kurt Langbein’s “Project Ballhausplatz” – as the short plan for the takeover of power was once called – will be released in cinemas. The 100-minute collage of archive footage and observer interviews documents the rise and fall of turquoise.
Now it has become public that there is another work about the ex-head of government: “KURZ – the film”. It can be seen from September 8th, two weeks before Langbein’s. Director of the 95-minute short portrait is Sascha Köllnreiter, producer Michael Reisch.
Die Tiroler Tageszeitung spoke to Reisch.
