A nineteen-year-old man died just before midnight on Sunday in a fireworks incident on the Henk van Turnhoutpad in Haarlem.
It concerns a “fatal accident involving fireworks”, the police wrote on X. For privacy reasons, nothing has been revealed about the identity of the victim.
This is the second fatal fireworks incident around the turn of the year. On Saturday, a man was killed in Neeritter, Limburg, when a piece of fireworks exploded while being lit. A second person was injured.
