Early in the morning on July 4, two strong explosions thundered in the Moscow region. According to eyewitnesses, residents of New Moscow, they were most likely the result of the work of air defense systems.
Two explosions in the area of the village of Marushkinskoye near the Moscow Vnukovo airport were reported by the telegram channel Baza. According to an eyewitness who filmed a cloud of black smoke on video, two explosions thundered with a difference of several seconds.
Reports of two loud pops also came from the village of Valuevo. A video with the same cloud of black smoke was published on the Mash telegram channel.
A little later, a video appeared there from residents of the village of Akinshino in New Moscow. They also reported two explosions around 06:30, however, it is not clear if they are talking about the same incident or if they are different explosions.
Meanwhile, the Russian TASS agency, citing emergency services reported about three downed drones, which at different times on the morning of July 4 were heading towards Moscow. Two of them were shot down with the help of electronic warfare on the territory of the village of Valuevo, and one more – in the Kaluga region. It is reported that no one was injured in the incident, and there was no damage on the ground either.
In addition, the agency reported the fall of another aircraft-type drone on the territory of a military facility near Kubinka near Moscow. According to a source in the emergency services, there were also no casualties or damage there, and the site of the drone crash is currently being examined.
After this incident, planes flying to Vnukovo Airport began to be redirected to other airports. Six flights have already been sent to alternate airfields – three Pobeda flights left for Sheremetyevo, one Azur Air, UTair, Flydubai flight each went to Domodedovo.
In the official telegram channel of the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency reportedthat the restrictions on the reception and release of aircraft, introduced at 05:10, have so far been extended until 08:00, but other airports in Moscow and the Moscow Region have continued to operate as usual.
