Two ethnic Greeks were killed in a shooting at Ukrainian servicemen and two others were injured, according to the online edition of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, citing information from the Greek Foreign Ministry. The incident took place in the area of the village of Granida in eastern Ukraine, BTA reports.
According to the information so far, three servicemen from the Ukrainian army are responsible for the deaths of the ethnic Greeks. The two groups quarreled, the reason being insignificant.
Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has asked to hold a telephone conversation with Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba to stress the need to protect the Greek community in Ukraine.
