Two employees were injured in a knife attack at the world-famous Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York on Saturday.

Two employees were injured in a knife attack at the world-famous Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York on Saturday. A visitor to the museum apparently attacked the employees out of anger at the withdrawal of his annual pass, the police said. The museum was evacuated after the incident and closed for the rest of the day.
The two women were wounded “in the back, collarbone and neck,” said New York City Police Department Deputy Chief John Miller. The women were immediately taken to a hospital and “we were told they would be fine.”
The suspect had not been arrested as of late Saturday afternoon (local time). According to police, it is a regular visitor to MoMA whose membership card was confiscated in two recent cases for “improper conduct”. When he was denied access to the museum on Saturday, he jumped over the reception counter and stabbed the two employees several times.
A popular tourist attraction, New York’s MoMa is home to artworks by Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, and Frida Kahlo, among others.
