The season-opening concert of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) will take place in the Grand Guild on October 8 at 7 pm – the orchestra will perform Beethoven’s First and Ninth Symphonies under the direction of conductor Jean-Claude Kazadesi. The LNSO has celebrated its 95th birthday this autumn, and the first half of the new season is special – it is the last one that the orchestra will spend at its home in the Grand Guild before the renovation of the house begins, LNSO representatives informed.
The opening concert of the season will feature Ludwig van Beethoven’s first and last symphony – “two different Beethoven’s. freedom “.
The concert will be conducted by French maestro Jean-Claude Cascades, who at the beginning of his career conducted the Château de Paris in Paris and was a conductor at the Paris Opera, as well as conducting the Lille National Orchestra for more than 40 years.
The concert will be attended by the State Academic Choir “Latvia” and soloists – soprano Perina Madefa, mezzo-soprano Laura Grecka, tenor Mikhail Chulpayev and bass Edgar Ošleja.
The concert “LNSO, Beethoven and Kazad” will be attended by vaccinated or Covid-19 patients who can present an interoperable certificate.
