Two deportees came to Denmark by evacuation plane

A man who arrived on Tuesday night by plane from Kabul, was expelled in Roskilde in 2016 and banned from entering Denmark until 2023. On Tuesday, he was remanded in custody for three days.

He was arrested during the control of Kastrup after coming via Pakistan. In court, he explained that he knew he had a ban on entry, but claimed that he and his wife and two children had received permission from the Danish authorities because he had worked for Denmark in Afghanistan.

It was the second time in two days that a man who has arrived with an evacuation plane has been arrested.

Detained

On Monday, a 23-year-old was remanded in custody for 24 days for returning to Denmark, even though he was sentenced to life in prison last year.

He was convicted of possession of a weapon and affiliation with the gang Loyal to Familia and deported via Turkey.

He arrived in Denmark without a passport and ID papers and says he used his brother’s identity to get the plane out of Kabul.

Five under surveillance

In France, five evacuees are under police surveillance on suspicion of links to the Taliban.

One of them admits that he carried a weapon when he was in charge of one of the Taliban’s checkpoints near Kabul in the days before August 18.

Government spokesman Gabriel Attal says he contributed to the evacuation of Frenchmen during a very tense period and probably saved lives, even though he had obvious ties to the Taliban.

The other four suspects belong to the man’s circle of acquaintances, and all must remain in quarantine at a hotel in Paris since they have not been vaccinated.
