Six dead Saturday and two Sunday. At the end of the weekend, the Valais therefore now has 53 deaths linked to COVID-19, which represents a mortality rate of 0.15% o compared to the Valais population.
In terms of hospital, Valais has 151 hospitalizations in progress. It’s nine more than Saturday. While 94 people were able to leave the hospital. 26 patients are currently in intensive care including 21 under intubation.
As for the number of positive cases, it increased by 37 Sunday to now stand at 1356 cases. Valais is the fifth most affected canton in Switzerland behind Ticino, Zurich, Geneva and the canton of Vaud in absolute numbers of cases.
