On the night of Friday, November 1, 2024, during a Halloween celebration, a shooting broke out in Orlando, killing two people and injuring more than five others.

-The incident took place in a busy part of the city. Authorities were called to the scene as witnesses described a scene of panic.
“Everything happened very quickly. We heard gunshots and everyone fell to the ground. At first we thought it was the music, but when people started to take shelter, we understood that something serious was happening. When we got up, it was over. There were injured people, bleeding on the ground,” says Genaro, who filmed the scene from a terrace bar.
The injured were rushed to hospital. Their condition varies, with some being in critical condition.
Orlando Police Chief Eric Smith said during a press conference that a 17-year-old boy, suspected of being the main perpetrator of the shooting, was arrested and taken into custody.
