Two dead, one injured in shooting at university in USA | Abroad

The injured person was taken to a hospital for treatment. The condition of this person was not disclosed. The shooting took place at Texas A&M University about 105 kilometers northeast of Dallas. It is not clear whether the shooter was arrested.

Students and staff were initially told to hide, but this advice was later withdrawn. All classes on campus, where 12,000 students are enrolled, were canceled the rest of the day.

The shooting is the latest in a wave of armed violence on campuses at American universities and high schools in recent years. The bloodshed has fueled the discussion about stricter restrictions on possession of weapons in the United States, where the constitution allows the right to bear arms.
