In a knife attack in the RE 70 from Kiel to Hamburg on Wednesday in the small town of Brokstedt (Schleswig-Holstein), seven people were injured and two were killed. One person is still in mortal danger.

The perpetrator had started his attack when the train was still in the station. According to eyewitnesses, panic broke out. At the time of the crime, there were around 120 passengers in the region.

A police spokeswoman on Wednesday evening: “It must have been a very big mess.” According to the police, investigations are being carried out in all directions, around 70 witnesses are being questioned and cared for.

According to BILD information, the 33-year-old suspected perpetrator Ibrahim A. was already noticed for violent and sexual offenses. He was still in custody six days ago.

According to initial information, the 33-year-old was considered a Syrian. A spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry now speaks of a stateless Palestinian.

The Interior Minister of Schleswig-Holstein, Sabine Sütterlin-Waack (CDU), confirmed the bad incident – she had heard the news in the state parliament and then consulted Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU).
