Two Dead in Dhanbad Train Accident: Emergency Brakes Applied after Electric Wire Falls on Purushottam Express

Dhanbad: 2 people died in a sudden jolt after the train applied emergency brakes. The incident took place on a train from Koderma district of Jharkhand to Delhi. The train was put on an emergency brake after an electric wire fell on top of the train.

The incident took place on the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express near Parzabad between Gomo and Koderma railway stations at 12.05 pm on Sunday. Emergency brake was applied to stop the train as power supply suddenly stopped. Officials informed that the train was traveling at a speed of 130 kmph at this time.

A diesel engine was brought and the train was taken to Gomo. From there he went to Delhi using an electric engine. Due to the accident, train services in the Dhanbad railway division of the East Central Railway (ECR) were halted for more than four hours.
