The police found two dead in a house in Assen yesterday afternoon. It concerns a 36-year-old resident and a 39-year-old man from Assen. Sources say to RTV Drenthe that the two were killed by an ex-boyfriend of the woman.
Police found the bodies after a report. RTV Drenthe writes that the victims were stabbed to death. The woman is said to have been harassed by her ex for a long time. The man would have smashed things to pieces and would have stalked her. The 36-year-old woman is said to have ended their relationship because of domestic violence.
Arson
The police do not want to say anything about the case. So it is not yet clear what happened and what the relationship was between the two victims. “The investigation is still ongoing,” a spokesperson told the regional broadcaster.
Last night a chalet in Assen also went up in flames. Sources say to RTV Drenthe that it belongs to the ex of the victim.
The police later only said that the 40-year-old owner and resident of the chalet had been arrested for arson, but would not say whether this man had anything to do with the violence against the two fatalities.
