Two deceased people were found this morning in a hotel on the Katwijkseweg in Wassenaar. They are said to have died under suspicious circumstances. The police conducts research.
Around 5:30 am, several emergency services were sent to the former Hotel Wassenaar on Katwijkseweg in Wassenaar. It would have been a report of an “accident of dangerous substances”. The fire brigade has taken measurements and is on site with large equipment.
The hotel has been evacuated. According to regional media, the hotel mainly houses migrant workers from Eastern Europe. Employment agency Lider Job houses migrant workers in the building. The owner of the employment agency confirms to the NOS that the two people found worked for the employment agency.
Community affected
Mayor Leendert de Lange of Wassenaar says in one response to have learned “with sadness” of the deaths of the two people. “This affects us as a community, and my thoughts go out to the relatives and everyone affected by this loss,” says De Lange.
“The police are carefully investigating the situation, and I am confident that they will do everything they can to provide clarity.”
