Two dead and five injured in night shootings in New York

One person was killed and four others injured — including an off-duty city corrections officer — in shootings in the Big Apple overnight, authorities said.

Other bloodshed included a fatal stabbing in Harlem and a stabbing in Brooklyn, police said.

In the fatal shooting, James Johnson, 35, was fatally injured outside 146 West 124th St. in Harlem early Saturday, the NYPD reported. Responding cops found the victim “unconscious and unconscious” from a bullet to the neck around 12:35 p.m. EMS said Johnson, who lived a block away, died at the scene. There are no arrests.

Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, a 33-year-old man and a 41-year-old man were shot dead at East River Houses, 415 East 102nd St. in Manhattan, cops said. The youngest victim was shot in the right side of the torso and the 41-year-old was grazed on the left side. Both men were taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the NYPD said. There are no arrests.
