Two dead and five injured in head-on collision on N247 near Middelie | Inland

The accident happened on Saturday at the end of the afternoon on the provincial road between Edam and Oosthuizen (N247). The road was closed in both directions.

In addition to two trauma helicopters, several ambulances were also sent to the location. The fire brigade has also been deployed. The cause of the accident is not yet known.

Both cars partly ended up in the water in the accident. “Of the seven people involved in the accident, five were transported to hospital,” the safety region said. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
