Two days after Rankovic’s dismissal, ADO joins Brood as the new trainer | NOW

Ruud Brood will be the new trainer of ADO Den Haag. The 58-year-old Gorinchemmer signs a two-year contract in the royal city later this week, where he succeeds the dismissed Aleksandar Rankovic.

Rankovic got his congé shortly after the home defeat against FC Twente (2-4) last Saturday. The Serbian was only on the bench for nine games at ADO, with which he performed poorly. Moreover, things did not go smoothly between him and the club management.

After Rankovic’s dismissal, the residency club quickly went looking for a new trainer and ended up with Brood. The former midfielder was without a club since he was fired by NAC Breda on New Year’s Eve.

Brood had NAC under his wing for only nine months. Previously, he was head coach of Heracles Almelo, Roda JC and NEC, among others. He also acted as assistant to Phillip Cocu at PSV.

ADO has started the season poorly, losing six of the eight league matches. The team can be found with only four points in sixteenth place in the Eredivisie. At the end of the season, that place leads to the play of the after-competition for enforcement at the highest level.

Moreover, it was already restless at ADO before Rankovic’s dismissal. Earlier last week, assistant coaches Rick Hoogendorp and Michele Santoni were expelled from the technical staff.
