The Social Welfare Center of the Epirus Region (KKPPI) and the Scientific “Association of Social Workers of Greece – Regional Department of Epirus (SKLE – PT EPIRO)” are co-organizing a two-day conference on Child Protection on June 16 and 17, 2023 entitled: “TWO DAY TRIP TO THE PROTECTION UNITS CHILD – MYTHS & REALITY”.
The two-day event, which will be held with the support of the Region of Epirus, will be held in Ioannina in the DODONI room of the Du Lac Hotel, on Friday 16/6/2023 from 12.30 pm to 6.30 pm. and on Saturday 17/6/2023 from 10.00 a.m. until 6.30 p.m.
The two-day event will be attended by distinguished Social Scientists, Academics and other institutional representatives of state bodies and authorities active in Child and Family Protection, such as representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the National Center for Social Solidarity (EKKA), as well as the Advocate of the Child, Mr. Koufonikolakos Theonis.
Issues of “deinstitutionalization”, “implementation of foster care and adoption institutions”, “violence in the family, abandonment, delinquency of minors”, “proposals to improve policies concerning the child and the family” will be developed.
The two-day conference will be open to the general public and the benefits that will arise in terms of information and awareness, as well as in the educational needs of young professionals in the social sciences, are expected to be very significant.
