Since the summer, China has allowed vaccinations with these as yet un-homologated vaccines for emergencies, such as workers and students traveling abroad or people who may be particularly exposed to the virus, such as nurses.
Since the epidemic in China itself has been largely under control since the spring, the tests are being carried out abroad. The clinical trials of Sinopharm, which has developed two vaccines that are already in the third and final test phase, took place in the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Peru and Egypt, among others.
According to the company, none of the people vaccinated has become infected with the coronavirus, although they have traveled to “more than 150 countries”. Chinese President Xi Jinping has previously promised that any vaccine developed by a Chinese company “becomes a public good for the whole world”.
Two Western vaccines achieve an efficiency of good 95 percent, was announced earlier this week. It concerns the vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech and that of Moderna.
