Tennessee: Two children were tragically killed by the attack of pit bull dogs kept in the house. The mother was hospitalized with severe injuries. The incident occurred Wednesday in North Memphis, Tennessee. A 2-year-old girl and a 5-month-old boy were killed in a ferocious dog attack, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said.
The children, whose bodies had been lacerated and cut, died instantly and the mother, bled to death and seriously injured in the attack by the dogs, was admitted to a hospital in Memphis. Police said two pit bull dogs attacked the children and the mother was bitten as she tried to save the children. The dogs were subsequently taken into custody by the animal control.
The sheriff’s office said they are investigating the incident and have not decided whether to file a complaint. Police have warned that it is impossible to say when dogs kept in the house will get angry and those who leave children alone should be careful.
