In a serious accident in the Hanover region on Friday, two children were killed and another four people were seriously injured. The police suspect illegal street racing as the cause.

Officials suspect that a 39-year-old woman and a man of the same age raced in their cars on Friday afternoon on a street near Barsinghausen. Her parents, a 29-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man, were seriously injured. The driver of another vehicle and the suspected cause of the accident were also hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the other car, who may have been racing with the woman, was unharmed.
