Two cases of Covid lead to the end of the European U21 Tournament in Ploufragan • Actufoot • Pro / amateur football news

Like last season, there will be no winner of the European U21 Tournament this year. While OGC Nice and EA Guingamp were to face each other in the final during the afternoon and RC Lens and Olympique de Marseille were to challenge each other in the match for third place, the organizers of the competition have whistled the end of it around noon.

Two cases of Covid in Nice and Lens

At issue: two cases of Covid-19 were detected within the Lensois and Nice groups. The event, which brought together eight teams from European training centers and which took place in Ploufragan (Côtes-d’Armor) therefore ended after 14 matches played. To date, the last winner of this tournament remains Standard de Liège, in 2019.

  • OM 0 – 3 EA Guingamp
  • RC Lens 1 – 1 Standard de Liège
  • Stade Rennais 2 – 1 Forward Guingamp
  • OM 1 – 0 FC Metz

Sunday’s first results:

  • Standard de Liège 3 – 2 Stade Rennais
  • Stade Brestois 29 2 – 0 FC Metz
