In two short virtual ceremonies, and before the Secretary General (S) of the University of Playa Ancha, María Soledad Hochstetter Santis, the academics Alberto Madrid Letelier and Manuel Chamorro Torres formalized their candidacies to chair the dean of the Faculty of Art for the period 2021-2024.
The first to comply with this requirement was the current Dean Alberto Madrid, who made his candidacy official on Thursday, December 3 (9:00 am); while the Director of the Department of Musical Arts Manuel Chamorro Torres did so on Friday the 4th at 11:00. With this procedure, both teachers met the requirements established by the Exempt Decree No. 754/2020.
For the purposes of these registrations, the candidates for dean had to have the sponsorship of a minimum of two full-time academics, and comply with the previous presentation of a document with the general guidelines of their program and an updated curriculum of their academic career.
The formalization of the candidatures was characterized by being the first one carried out in the Faculty of Art by the Zoom platform (virtual modality), understanding the health situation that the country is experiencing and before the closure of the university units as of March of this year as established by Decree No. 134/2020.
It is expressly stated that the deadline established for registration was met at 5:00 p.m. on December 4, 2020, and this stage of the electoral process was concluded, which will culminate with the virtual election of dean on Wednesday, December 16 , between 09:00 and 17:00 hours, and will be in charge of the General Directorate of Informatics.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday December 9 (12:45) there will be a Two-State Expanded Council virtual (Zoom) that will include an induction for the online voting process, by the General Director of Informática Roberto Álvarez. Subsequently, each candidate will have 10 minutes to present the general guidelines of their respective programs, to culminate with a round of questions from the participants.
