Things are moving in the Batiplus affair, a subsidiary of the Batimat Group. Two buildings belonging to the family of Rachelle Sleylaty, the cashier of the company in question, accused of alleged embezzlement involving 2.8 billion F Cfa, have been placed under protective mortgage. This, following an order for provisional measures, issued on Tuesday, August 18, by the dean of the investigating judges.
According to L’Observateur, in correspondence, Samba Sall had seized the Commander of the Research Section of the Colobane gendarmerie of a judicial delegation, on June 26, 2020 for “identify all movable, immovable, tangible and intangible property, bank accounts and shares or company shares belonging to the accused including Rachelle Sleylaty, her mother, Marie Joseph Bechara, her father, André Sleylaty and her fiancé, Rabih Kfoury“.
Arrested, the 24-year-old employee was eventually taken into police custody. The investigation opened by the Research Section made it possible to get hold of her parents and her fiancé. They were all placed under arrest warrant for criminal association, forgery and use of forgery in trade writing, breach of trust, money laundering and complicity.
