Carol Brown, a 67-year-old woman who was serving as the coordinator of the science and technology program for black students at Pasadena City College was on a video call with a colleague at Zoom last Monday when she was stabbed to death.

The incident occurred at his Los Angeles-area residence shortly after noon. First, both Brown and his colleague witnessed the woman’s brother being dragged out of the house by another man, where he was killed. Then the man returned to look for her and also murdered her.

According a press release From the Los Angeles County Police Department, the person on the other side of the screen, who witnessed part of the assault, called 911 at 2:45 p.m. to report a possible kidnapping in progress.

The person saw people being dragged out of the house, but would not have seen the stabbings in detail.

When the police arrived at the house, they found the man on the porch of the house and the woman inside. Both were later pronounced dead at the scene.

In accordance with a report of The Washington Post, a 32-year-old man named Robert Cotton, was arrested as a suspect in these crimes and charged with two counts of murder.

While at the home, investigators discovered that a vehicle was missing, and shortly thereafter the alleged killer returned to the scene, driving one of the victim’s cars.

Then he was arrested. The suspect said that he resided in the house, a fact that has not been confirmed at the moment. Nor have the motives for the crime been released.
