Two boats collide on Marowijne River in French Guiana: Alcohol-induced accident leads to five injuries

Two boats collided on the Marowijne River around 4 p.m. on Thursday. The accident took place near Saint Bonniere, French Guiana.

In the boat that struck there were five people who remained in French Guiana for medical treatment, the police of the East Suriname region reports.

The perpetrator was under the influence of alcohol and reported to the Albina police station.

The suspect was kept in custody for sobering up. The case has been handed over to the Maritime Authority of Suriname for further investigation.
