Over the next few days, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region will host two blood drives. The first will be held this Friday, March 10 at the Terrasse-Vaudreuil Community Center while the second will take place in Saint-Lazare this Monday, March 13.
Tomorrow, the Terrasse-Vaudreuil Community Center will open its doors to donors as part of this blood drive organized by Héma-Québec. The place will be accessible from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the goal is to receive 60 donors.
In Saint-Lazare, interested parties will be able to make a donation during the blood drive which will stop at Chez Maurice this Monday, March 13 from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We hope to welcome 175 donors. In both cases, people interested in participating can make an appointment online or by phone.
A crying need
The summer holidays, combined with the fact that the number of new blood donors has dropped significantly during the pandemic, are all reasons that prompt Héma-Québec to remind people of the importance of donating blood.
To make an appointment before coming to the collection, simply create or consult your profile at jedonne.hema-quebec.qc.ca and reserve a time slot there, or contact 1 800 343-7264 (BLOOD).
People who come across a collection site or a donor center and who have time to make a donation are also invited to come to the site and check whether the teams in place are able to welcome them.
Who can donate blood?
Anyone in good health, aged 18 or over, can usually donate blood. Before going to a blood drive, you can check your eligibility with Donor Customer Service at 1 800 847-2525 or consult the Héma-Québec website at www.hema-quebec.qc.ca , section Donors > Blood > Can I donate?
