Police are investigating two attempted rapes in Vienna-Favoriten. At 2:30 on November 19, three men tried to drag a 20-year-old woman into a bush on Franz-Koci-Strasse. Yesterday, Wednesday, at 1.15 am, an 18-year-old woman was attacked by two suspects in the passage of an apartment complex in Jura-Soyfer-Gasse. In both cases the women managed to escape.
In the first rape attempt, the suspects fled when a passerby appeared nearby. The 18-year-old defended herself so vehemently on Nov. 30 that the perpetrators let her go.
It was not yet clear whether these were the same authors in both cases, as there are no usable personal descriptions. The victims could only state that the men were dressed in dark suits and masked with FFP2 masks. “They were traumatic events,” police spokesman Philipp Hasslinger told APA. The passer-by had no perception of the culprits, but only took care of the 20-year-old. “Police are investigating under intense pressure from all directions,” Hasslinger said.
