A 22-year-old and a 37-year-old were allegedly responsible for an extortion attempt against a 19-year-old boy who turned to a bank employee and asked for help: they blocked the young man and forced him to withdraw money from the ATM .
A boy of 22 years old and a man of 37 years old were arrested on charges of attempted extortion in competition. The facts date back to the afternoon of yesterday 17 October when the two were allegedly responsible for an extortion attempt against a 19-year-old boy who turned to a bank employee and asked for help.
According to the reconstruction of what happened, the young man had been stopped by the two arrested a few minutes earlier with the excuse of selling him a colored postcard. The 19-year-old reportedly bought two postcards for the price of 10 eurosbut at this point the two suspects would have insisted on asking the young man for more money, forcing him to accompany him to the ATM and withdraw at least 250 euro. The victim had been held by the neck and forcefully carried by the arm. Fortunately, once at the counter he was able to ask an employee for help. Soon some police patrols arrived on the scene and stopped the two.
The officers carried out all the necessary investigations and found the 22-year-old and the 37-year-old in possession of 250 euros in cash and a pack of colored postcards. They will have to answer for the charge of attempted extortion in competition: they are in prison in Bassone.
