Two Argentines launch a folkloric musical in New York

Jacinta Clusellas and Tatiana Pandiani will present a set of songs that combine the Argentine genre with traditional Latin American sounds.

Next March 23, at the famous Broadway supper club 54 Belowthe Argentines Jacinta Clusellas and Tatiana Pandiani will present a set of songs that combine the Argentine folklore with traditional sounds of Latin America and the format of contemporary musical theater.

This concert will celebrate the release of the EP Azul with the full cast, arrangements and orchestrations by the award winner Tony y Grammy Alex Lacamoireand vocal arrangements of Kurt Crowley.

The work is about art and the experience of immigrants. Set in a world of magical realism, it follows the story of an ambitious young woman, Blue Bird, who leaves her home behind and travels in hopes of making a living as a poet. Some time later (already in New York) her daughter Rita struggles to write compositions about the homeland she never knew. However, when she tries to make her own music, she discovers a family secret that discredits the stories she knew as a child.

Azul features original music by Argentinian Jacinta Clusellas, lyrics by Melis Aker, Tatiana Pandiani and again Jacinta Clusellas, and a booklet written by Aker and Pandiani. This concert is directed by Tatiana Pandiani and produced by Anabel Manuela Romero, Ryan Duncan-Ayala, and Jacinta Clusellas; and promises to be the revelation of the American theater season.
