Climate activists throw soup at a Monet painting at the Lyon Museum
MADRID, 10 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
This Saturday, two activists threw soup at a painting by the painter Claude Monet displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon, in eastern France, as part of an action by the Food Response group to warn about the impact of climate change.
“Two citizens participating in the Food Response campaign have thrown soup at the painting ‘Spring’ by Claude Monet in the Museum of Fine Arts of Lyon,” this group of activists confirmed through their account on the social network X.
The activists, identified as Ilona and Sophie, stated: “This spring will be the only one we have left if we do not react.” «What will our future artists paint? “What will we dream about if there are no more springs?” they have asked themselves.
Thus, Alimentaria Response has said that “art is the most beautiful tribute to life.” «We love it, but our future artists will have nothing to paint on a burned planet. “They will no longer dream in a world with multiple conflicts,” she said.
«We still have a choice. “We must rebel and resist,” he stressed, before arguing that “he wants to warn about the climate and social crisis.” The event took place about two weeks after two other activists from the group threw soup at Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘La Gioconda’ at the Louvre Museum in Paris.
