Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Twitter users will soon be able to upload long tweets. The company is reportedly developing a feature for tweets to be uploaded throughout the article.
For information, in 2018 Twitter changed the maximum Tweet character. Namely from the previous 140 to 280 characters.
The new capability report was revealed by tech writer and spotter, Jane Manchun Wong on her Twitter account. The feature is called Article and will be a long-format upload, quoted on the Cnet page, Friday (4/2/2022).
“Twitter is working on ‘Twitter Articles’ and the ability to create them on Twitter. Possibly a new long format in Twitter,” he wrote.
He also uploaded a preview of the feature taken from the web version of Twitter. There is Twitter Articles written at the top of the screen, with the text in the middle being ‘No twitter articles yet, create a Twitter Article!’.
This view is different from uploading the current tweet. After pressing the new tweet button, there will be a small box to write tweets. While Twitter Articles took up almost the entire page of the platform.
Twitter has also opened a voice about this. However, it does not provide certainty about the presence of the Twitter Articles feature.
In an email to Cnet, a company spokesperson said, “Always looking for new ways to help people start and engage in conversations”.
The spokesman also added that he would soon share more information about the work.
In recent times, Twitter is known to be trying a variety of new features. Including releasing an audio conversation feature similar to the application that went viral last year, Clubhouse.
This feature called Spaces was launched last year. With trials carried out since last November 2020. In Spaces, users can directly connect to chat with each other via audio with other users.
