Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Twitter is reportedly testing a new feature that allows users to watch YouTube videos directly from their tweets. Previously, if someone tweeted a YouTube video link, it only showed thumbnail and will be directed to the application.
This feature is said to be still being tested on iOS devices in several countries such as Canada, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Japan.
“The current trial on iOS will be a four week trial, we plan to see the results and will scale it accordingly,” a Twitter spokeswoman said was quoted as saying. The Verge, Sunday (21/3/2021).
A tweet on the company’s official account contains a GIF showing how the feature works. You can see a tweet containing a video of a man holding it smartphone.
The tweet looks the same as other users loading a video, except that there is a YouTube logo affixed to the bottom left side of the video box.
Previously, the company also announced that it would test the feature enhancement for iOS and Android users. It could be, this step is one of them.
