On the profile of Shield & Friends, Twitter users can now click through to the rules used by the social networking site. There it can be read, among other things, that users must not threaten or promote terrorism or violent extremism. It is not immediately clear which posts from the right-wing extremist organization were the reason for suspending the account.
The other suspended accounts, like Schild & Vrienden, are part of the so-called “Identity Movement” in Europe. This includes the own account of Austrian Martin Sellner, who had also been removed from Facebook and Instagram for some time. Sellner leads the Identitären Bewegung Österreich (IBÖ) in Austria.
Earlier, Twitter also took action against some messages from US President Donald Trump.
