From Monday Chirping will kick off the announced ‘revolution’ against the fake account and on account rewardwith blue ticks that become paid and are subject to new verification. The company bought by Elon Musk explained that subscribed users will see less ads. Anyone who decides to register on the web will have to pay $8 a month. Users using iOS, Apple’s operating system for iPhones and iPads, however, will have to pay $11 a month.
The news was released directly from the official Twitter account: “TwitterBlue will relaunch Monday: Subscribe on the web for $8/month or on iOS for $11/month to get access to subscriber-only features, including the blue checkmark. Subscribers will be able to change username, display name or photo of the profile, but if so they will lose temporarily the blue checkmark until their account is verified again.” Also, according to rumors, the ticks of paid accounts will become di different colors: Gold for commercial companies and gray for government institutions and organizations.
“Tomorrow i robot they will have a surprise,” Musk commented. “The bots/trolls generate fake activity, so Twitter may seem a little less lively, but it’s really just that the fakeness is gone.”
