Twitter Rebrand: Elon Musk Changes Blue Bird Logo to X and Renames Company

Jakarta

Twitter Looks like the logo has officially changed. The blue bird that used to be the site’s symbol has changed to a logo X. Looking ahead, it seems that Elon Musk has not only changed the Twitter blue bird logo to X, but the entire company has changed its name to X. Even now, when accessed, X.com already points to Twitter and when visiting the Twitter web page, the logo has become X.

Elon Musk has been tweeting a lot about changing Twitter to X. “X.com now heading to twitter.com,” he wrote. “And soon we will be saying goodbye to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds,” Musk wrote in an earlier tweet.

As quoted detikINET from The Verge, another strong sign that Twitter will be changing its name to X is that Musk has reportedly sent emails to Twitter employees, informing them that the company will be changing to X and that it will be the last time he will send an email from a Twitter address.

But what is clear now is that the Twitter logo has become an X. Elon Musk has tweeted, showing the X logo emblazoned on the Twitter office.

Some Elon Musk fans welcomed this change, but of course many were disappointed because the logo and Twitter name were already legendary. One of them is YouTuber Marques Brownlee, who joined Twitter since 2009.

“I’ll still call it Twitter,” Brownlee wrote. Elon immediately replied to the tweet, “Not for a long time.”

Elon Musk seems obsessed with the name XXcom, originally the real name of Paypal, the financial company he once founded. His spacecraft company is called XpaceX. There are children whose names contain these letters.

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino explains the idea behind the change to X. “X is the future state of seamless interactivity – centered on audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services and opportunity. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we have only begun to imagine,” said Linda.

This rebranding of Twitter to X will be Elon Musk’s biggest step in asserting that this social media is no longer the same as it used to be under his control.
