Aspen Ladd didn’t show up earlier tonight (Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021) at UFC Vegas 40 live on ESPN + from UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, and his coaches weren’t happy.
Ladd should be given a bit of slack in her loss to Norma Dumont in the main event, as she was a late fill following the fall of Holly Holm. Still, Ladd was supposed to fight two weeks ago before a botched weight loss and likely had his ducks in a row for a five-round fight with Dumont.
Sadly, Ladd did little or nothing in the 25 minutes and that prompted his coaches to question him in the corner. “Please tell me what you’re doing,” they begged him between the final rounds. Ladd hadn’t fought since December 2019, but she was never the kind of fighter to run away from a fight and not impose her will. It was strange to say the least.
Check out one of Ladd’s Corner moments below:
After the fight, MMAs had the best conversation possible between Ladd and his coaches during the most difficult performance of his career. The masses were not happy. Check out the reaction below:
I feel like this guy is training for the camera right now

When Aspen Ladd made her UFC debut, she was full of aggression and intensity. Do you remember those screams and those finishes? It is obviously quite the opposite. A little for her because a lot of it has to be mental.

There is a fine line between loving hard and being too hard. At first it was like the first one. Obviously, he knows what she responds best to. But then it was uncomfortable to watch. Too much. We haven’t heard any discussion about a technique or a game plan. Not ideal. https://t.co/R3SMvnEUaM
