Stuttgart – No other football fans discuss this week as passionately on Twitter as those of VfB Stuttgart. The reason: CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger and President Claus Vogt. The two popular figures fought a public power struggle – with an open letter against an open letter reply.

So the thoughts of the VfB fans before the game against RB Leipzig were rather not on the field. A few minutes before the game, Vogt and Hitzlsperger calmed down the blazing Twitter fire of the fans. Both published conciliatory words on their accounts at almost the same time, which can be read in our VfB news blog:

Only then did you really look at the lawn of the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which actually didn’t deserve the name. This is also what this Twitter user, who with a wink of the eye analyzed the week at VfB, thinks:

The pulse of the fans then rises again, because RB Leipzig gets a penalty. Justified or not – Gregor Kobel doesn’t care, he unpacks an incredible parade of feet. Memories of a past VfB keeper are awakened:

The nickname could be set after the parade:

But the guests are also noticeable playfully, Dani Olmo scores 1-0 in the second half. The quality is unmistakable, admits this fan:

In the final phase of the game, things were going well on the pitch: VfB awarded the equalizer through Waldemar Anton, shortly afterwards Gregor Kobel parried a header on the line:

In the end there is a defeat for VfB, but the fans are conciliatory. The development of the team comforts the pointless evening:

On Sunday, January 10th, VfB will head to Augsburg, kick-off is at 3:30 p.m.
