JAKARTA – Twitter announced that it is preparing its newest feature, namely the label that will be attached to automatic accounts, widely known as bot accounts.
“Bot accounts will now have the option to add a new label to their account profile,” Twitter said in a statement.
Twitter gives bot accounts the option to write “good bot” and adds a robot icon to the profile.
This label is the difference between automated accounts and accounts run by humans.
In the example image given, the automatically managed account has a label that says “automatically sent by (account name)”.
With labels like this, users can know who they are interacting with and decide which accounts to follow and trust.
“#GoodBot helps Twitter users stay up to date with useful, entertaining and relevant information; from fun emoji combinations to breaking news,” Twitter said.
The bot account label feature was trialled since September 2021, the trial is now expanding globally.
