“To the parrot!” It has received a subsidy from the Diversity area of ​​the Diputació de València. It has been carried out during 2021 and its purpose has been to sensitize the population against hate crimes due to LGTBphobia in social networks.

According to the conclusions of the first report, LGTBphobia continues to be rooted, normalized and expressed without any reflection or criticism in society, with a greater reflection on social networks. Noemi Sorio, the person in charge of this first report, assures that what is intended is to raise awareness in the population in the identification of hate crimes, and empower victims and identify LGTBphobic attitudes on the internet, so that they denounce.

According to Sorio, in order to carry out the project, the group has organized training and hate crime detection sessions on social networks aimed at volunteers and a round table on the increase in LGTBphobic speech.

In parallel, the group has designed a campaign to disseminate the program and the creation of a tracking team to identify the discriminatory content detected on the networks, which subsequently examines the messages and identifies the possible crimes committed.

As a result of the project, 23 volunteers have been trained to raise awareness and prevent discrimination and hate crimes due to LGTBphobia on social networks, training that will serve to detect hate crimes committed on these channels in order to eradicate them.
