jpnn.com – Twitter is testing a reminder feature about the limited edition products it offers its users.
The reminder is for individual use products.
Testing will be carried out with several brands, such as Dior, Home Depot, and Fossil.
Several fashion brands, luxury product designers, and other creators have in recent years created a trend for special edition releases.
The new features of Twitter are meant to play up the platform’s reputation as a place for real-time information and news.
“This was directly inspired by the lively conversation about product launches on our service – from new game consoles and handbags to limited edition sneakers,” said staff product manager on Twitter Justin Hoang in a statement.
For example, when a brand tweets an upcoming product launch, users can later select the “Remind me” option in that tweet.
Users or potential buyers will be able to receive application notifications 15 minutes before the item goes on sale or when the resale takes place after it has been closed.
