Twitter is blocking the Hungarian government’s account – Worldwide

The Hungarian government said on Wednesday that the social media Twitter had blocked the government’s official account without warning.

“We have taken the necessary steps and are awaiting Twitter’s official response,” Zoltans Kovacs, a government spokesman, told his Twitter account.

The blocking of the account is censorship against the government of the Hungarian National Conservative Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the official said.

“There is finally a wonderful new world where technology giants are silencing those who have a different opinion,” Kovacs said.

When you try to access a government account, “User @abouthungary account suspended” appears.

After all, other Hungarian official social media channels continued to operate as usual on Wednesday.

Twitter has deleted several tweets of US President Donald Trump this year or added a special label to them, stating that the tweets are misleading.
