Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram turn their backs on Trump indefinitely

Two days after the assault on the headquarters of the US Congress by violent pro-Trump groups and the announcement of the blocking of the Twitter account of the current president of that country, the directors of this social network decided to cancel his profile “permanently”.

Facebook was the other social network that decided to cancel “indefinitely” the account of the US president. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of this company, declared that it was “too great a risk” that Trump continued to use their services. Snapchat and Instagram also decided to turn their backs on the US president.

“After reviewing the recent tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context of them, we have decided to permanently suspend the account of the current president of the United States,” Twitter announced in a public statement.

Facebook, for its part, was not so radical in the measure and declared that until now the closure will be “for a minimum of two weeks”, until Joe Biden assumes the US presidency on January 20.

The main reasons that led to these measures were Trump’s messages to his followers to instigate a march in the US capital that, finally, left four dead and material damage in the Capitol building in Washington DC

Donald Trump’s Twitter account is considered one of the most popular in the world, as it has an audience of more than 88 million followers.
