Twitter Expands Free Data Access for App Developers, This Is The Goal : Okezone techno

TWITTER will reportedly expand data access for free for app developers. This is to help software developers create tools and products that can promote safer online conversations.

As reported Reuters, Tuesday (16/11/2021), app developer can access data for up to 2 million tweets per month at no cost through an application programming interface (API).

Twitter’s Head of Product for the Developer Platform Amir Shevat said the company changed its API policy to allow for more usage.

He also said the move to expand access was part of Twitter’s efforts to decentralize the company, aimed at giving users more control over what content they see on Twitter.

Efforts to increase access to these developers also come at a time when the content algorithms of Twitter and other social media companies are being watched globally for having the potential to spread misinformation.

Examples of apps developed using Twitter data include Block Party, founded by Tracy Chou, which allows Twitter users to filter out content they don’t want to see.
