Twitter Community Page: Screenshots show tests on the new feature

Community Pages on Twitter? Does this work like Facebook Groups? Exactly! The short message service is currently working on a group function where like-minded people could come together.

On Twitter, users can follow each other and subscribe to pages whose content they are interested in. This means that topics worth knowing appear in your feed. But groups such as can be found on Facebook, where an exchange between like-minded people is possible, have not yet existed. This could change soon. Because the reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong discovered a community page in the code of Twitter. She shared a screenshot of the feature on Twitter.

The screenshot shows that users can create their own community pages. In the community created by Wong, only members of the community would be able to tweet and reply to tweets. However, all Twitter users could see and share the community’s tweets. It can be assumed here that there are different levels for the communities and that these could also be made completely visible only to members. It remains unclear whether the creators of the community can also decide who is allowed to join it. But that should also be made possible as protection for members.

Twitter currently has various features in a beta test. These include, for example, an undo function, the audio-only feature Spaces or paid subscriptions. As with all of these tests, it is also unclear whether Twitter is actually officially rolling out the discovered community page. But should the communities be launched on Twitter, they should also offer interesting opportunities for marketers and companies to network and exchange ideas with their target group.
