“Twitter Bug Allows Users to Get Blue Verification Check for Free – Here’s How”

Perhaps one of Musk’s measures on Twitter that was worst received in Spain and in the rest of the world has been to capitalize the ‘Blue check’ or blue mark of verification. What used to be a symbol that classified us as ‘special’ users of the social network is now nothing more than a mark obtained by paying for the famous Twitter Blue, for almost 10 euros a month. Some users have achieved such mark thanks to a Twitter glitch, at least temporarily.

Some Twitter users were able to find a small bug whereby, for free, they could get the ‘blue check’ for a short period of time and totally free. The best thing is that it was tremendously simple; you just had to add a few words to the description or ‘bio’ of the profile. This ruling, as of the date of writing this article, It is still present and can be further exploited.

These phrases range from “blue check” to “former check mark” to “legacy check mark.” Thus, the blue mark appears without the user having to do anything else, although the period of time that it is maintained can range from 5 seconds to half an hour.

A new Twitter bug

It all starts with Anthony Carboni, Anglo-Saxon television celebrity, who tried this trick on his profile. Indeed; adding these phrases the user earned the blue tick on his account. However, with a trick; Only he could see it and not his followers. However, any user who wanted to prove that he had the mark, just had to take a screenshot of his profile.

From EL ESPAÑOL – Omicrono we were able to effectively corroborate that this was happening. In our case, we were able to get the ‘blue check’ just by adding that same phrase, “blue check” in our profile. Again, it could not be seen by the followers and also after time it disappeared. Removing the ‘bio’ phrase, the mark was also removed.

After Carboni, all kinds of celebrities, influencers and users tried the trick. Again, the mark didn’t last long and was only good for taking a screenshot. But this is one more proof of the malfunction of Twitter since the wave of layoffs the company suffered months ago, with workers refusing to put up with Musk’s new abusive hours. That’s not counting Musk’s outlandish measures that the few workers at the firm have to endure.

Also, this bug comes at a delicate time for Twitter and the issue of the blue mark. After Musk removed completely this brand leaving it solely for public interest accounts, a real chaos ensued as far as this matter is concerned. Without going any further, the accounts of deceased celebrities such as Chadwick Boseman or Kobe Bryant received the blue mark, and it was even known that a fake Disney + account received the gold mark.
