Twitter Blue officially launched: Twitter’s premium model

Twitter is now officially introducing the premium version of its short message service. “Blue” is the name of the subscription model with which users receive new functions.

Users in Canada and Australia will be the first to take advantage of the new Twitter Blue features. Twitter announced this on its own homepage. This is a monthly subscription model with which users “activate” additional functions.

Twitter Blue features

  • Bookmark folder: Blue users can now save posts and other Twitter content and sort them with self-selected bookmark medals. So if you consume a lot of TV content on Twitter, for example, you can now save your favorite tweets and categorize them in their own folder.
  • Undo-Tweet: It has not become a complete “tweet-revise” function, but Twitter Blue has something in this direction ready. With “Undo-Tweet” users can set a timer of up to 30 seconds. This expires after every tweet and every reply have been sent. During this time, you can look at the tweet again and, if in doubt, withdraw and / or edit it.
  • Reader-Modus: With this feature, longer content should be easier to read and processed in a more appealing way.
  • Further “bonuses”: Twitter Blue subscribers also receive a few additional functions on top of that. For example, special icons for the Twitter app that can be individually adapted. New colors (themes) for the Twitter app are also on offer. Twitter also announced that Twitter Blue users will have access to a dedicated customer service.
  • Price: In Canada the service starts at $ 3.49 and in Australia $ 4.49. That is about 2.40 to 2.86 euros.

Twitter Blue does not have a complete general overhaul or overly incisive power features that make the “basic” Twitter obsolete. The subscription variant is aimed more at power users who use the app particularly intensively. For them, the features could be worthwhile in everyday tweet.
