Twitter has (again) blocked a tweet from Donald Trump. Trump claimed that the common flu is more deadly than Covid-19 and that we just have to learn to live with the new coronavirus, just like the flu.
“Many people die every year, sometimes even more than 100,000 from the flu, despite the fact that there is a vaccine. Are we going to shut down our country? No, we have learned to live with it. Just as we learn to live with Covid, in many countries much less deadly !!! ” According to the American president, the normal flu is therefore more deadly than the corona virus. He even gives figures, stating that up to 100,000 people die from the common flu every year. In addition, he may have forgotten that more than 210,000 people in the United States have already died from the consequences of the corona virus.
He also created confusion about his willingness to help poor people and businesses against Covid’s economic impact. He first tweeted that he only wanted to talk about it again after he won the election. The result: the stock markets fell sharply.
He later tweeted the opposite. The stock exchanges were already closed by then.
